Dear Mr. Shepard As the economy has languished in the United States I have found service levels of companies, in most sectors, to be deteriorating. I would guess that is true of the RV sector, though I suspect your business has done well over the last few years. Last year I purchased a Montana High Country from Pete's RV. We've had our share of issues with the machine, but I expect that's fairly normal for first time buyers of RV's. Your service department has been responsive, but that is not the reason for this letter. The reason for this letter is to comment about one of your employees. I'm referring to Randy Murray. Last fall Randy came out to my RV located on a permanent site in Isle La Motte. His mission was to winterize and show me how to do the same. He was efficient, courteous and demonstrated a very high level of experience and expertise. I was confident in his work and, sure enough, I arrived in the spring to find everything to be in ship shape. This year I decided to go it on my own. As you know, there's a lot to remember and also a lot that's not in the owner's manual about winterizing. As I proceeded I realized that I didn't remember everything Randy had shown me last year. So, I picked up the phone and telephoned him. I know he is no longer in service and now earns his keep in the sales department. However, that makes his behavior and assistance to me all the more commendable. Randy took me by the hand (figuratively) and explained step by step what I should do. Additionally, he paid special attention to guiding me through some of the trickier parts of the process. I also paid less than adequate attention to his guidance and got myself in trouble, generating a second call to Randy. Again he bailed me out with his courtesy, patience and expertise. Mr. Shepard, I would urge you to continue to hire personnel with the exemplary qualities demonstrated by Randy. With employees like him you will have customers like me for life. Oh, and by the way, who do you think I will be buying my next RV from? Thanks for listening, Bill B.
