Pete’s RV Service Tips Video: How to Level Your Camper

April 11th, 2012 by Phil | Posted in Fifth Wheels, General RVs, RV Parts & Accessories, RV Service Tips, Travel Trailers | No Comments »

Pete’s RV Lifestyle Consultant Randy Murray provides step-by-step instruction for leveling a camper.  The 5-minute video covers all the basics including gauging slideout clearance, front-to-back & left-to-right leveling, and proper use of stabilizer jacks.

For his demonstration, Randy uses a Keystone Cougar Xlite 28RBS travel trailer.  However, his recommendations are applicable to pop-ups, expandable trailers and other tow-behinds.  Leveling a fifth wheel is essentially the same, but it uses landing gear jacks, and not a tongue jack to complete the job.

This How to Level Your Camper video on the Pete’s RV YouTube Channel is highly recommended for all RV owners for proper care of their unit.

Here are a few key takeaways from Randy’s demonstration:

  • Evaluate campsite first for levelest footing and park accordingly
  • Open slideouts before leveling left-to-right
  • Use arm’s length to gauge appropriate clearance before opening slideouts
  • A wheel leveler and chock ensures secure left-to-right leveling
  • Adjust front-to-back leveling with the tongue jack (or the landing gear on a fifth wheel)
  • Do not use stabilizer jacks to level a camper
  • Lowering stabilizer jacks is a snap with a power driver and socket

All of the accessories used in the RV leveling video are available for purchase at the Pete’s RV Parts Store:

Pete’s RV Gets Product Training on 2011 Springdale RV

April 13th, 2011 by Phil | Posted in Fifth Wheels, General RVs, Keystone, News, Product News, RV Sales, Springdale, Travel Trailers | No Comments »

Keystone RV District Manager Brain Weaver paid a visit to Pete’s RV Center to provide product training on Springdale travel trailers and fifth wheels.

His presentation was further reinforcement that Springdale RVs are family favorites and continuously a top seller in the travel trailer category.

A few of the noticeably impressive features for 2011 include:

  • 26″ LCD TV with name brands such as Sharp and LG
  • Adaptable AM/FM/CD/DVD/IPod/MP3 player
  • Solid wood across slide fascia and full wood framing
  • Full width outriggers
  • 30,000 BTU furnace vs. competition’s 25,000 BTU furnace
  • Porcelain toilet with 360 degree rinse

Brian also pointed out several less obvious yet exceptional features such as:

  • Upgraded lighting in slide-out with sconce fixtures
  • Nightstands under each side of queen bed with drawers
  • Dynaspan flooring is 20% stronger than plywood, water repellent, and comes with a lifetime warranty
  • Hand-tightened plumbing fittings requires no tools
  • Do-more dinette table weighs 8 pounds and provides easy functionality

Given to only two manufacturers per year, Springdale RV is a DSI (Dealer Satisfaction Index) award winner.  We’re not surprised.  Pete’s RV Center has long touted the value, durability and affordability of the Springdale RV brand.  It is an exceptional choice for entry-level RVers and families looking to sleep four or more–yet still maintain all the creature comforts of a fully equipped camper.  Case in point:  Historically, Pete’s RV focused on Springdale travel trailers, but we liked the 2011 Springdale fifth wheels so much, we added several Springdale fifth wheel floorplans to our inventory as well!

As time progresses Pete’s RV will provide you with up-to-date Springdale features.  In the meantime, we welcome you to contact us with further inquiries on Springdale Travel Trailers and Fifth Wheels.

Redesigned Keystone Sprinter RV Draws High Praise at Nat’l Trade Show

December 22nd, 2010 by Phil | Posted in Keystone, Product News, Sprinter, Travel Trailers | No Comments »

PRV Info Blog Editor’s Note: The following is a press release distributed by Keystone RV Company.  Pete’s RV was also impressed with the new floorplan.  Additional pictures and specs on the 2011 Sprinter 255RKS can be found on the Pete’s RV website.

GOSHEN, Ind. — Keystone RV’s newly revamped Sprinter travel trailer received high compliments from dealers at the recent National RV Trade Show, the company announced today.

Showcasing all new interiors and new floorplans, the 2011 Sprinter continues to “Make Camping Easy” and affordable for today’s RVing family, said Chad Enyeart, Sprinter product manager.

According to Gabe Johnson, co-owner of Rick’s RV Sales, Ville Platte, La., the new Sprinter is one of the most beautiful travel trailers on the market today, and clearly the best value.

“After seeing most of their competitors in Louisville, I still feel Sprinter is the best value in the fiberglass, aluminum framed market,” said Johnson. “With unique floor plans, interiors rivaling luxury fifth wheels, and a responsive sales staff that listens to dealers, I think Sprinter and Copper Canyon will continue their upward momentum.”

Among the many interior upgrades featured in the 2011 Sprinter are Sienna-stained hardwood cabinetry, LED floor lighting, stylish new furniture, and easy-to-care-for Corian countertops.

Also incorporated into the product line are six all new floorplans.

“One of our most talked about new floorplans at the Show was the 255RKS,” said Enyeart. “There is nothing else like it on the market. We’ve created a rear kitchen layout that includes a 5.5-foot-long rear kitchen bar, with stools, and sofa/dinette super slide. It’s an ideal arrangement for gathering with friends, sitting down to a buffet breakfast, or playing cards. And all this in a 28-foot trailer that weighs just over 6,000 pounds.”

Sprinter has experienced five straight years of continued market share growth and three consecutive years of RVDA DSI Quality recognition, said Matt Zimmerman, Keystone group general manager, who credits Sprinter’s roots for the ongoing success of the brand.

“Sprinter is Keystone RV Company’s very first brand. From Day 1 we have encouraged feedback from the people who actually use our campers,” he added. “The improvements and new models we introduced at the show grew from our dialogue with campers. At Keystone we listen to the customer.”
