Cooking In Your RV

A little planning can make cooking in your RV much easier. After all, no one wants to spend their whole vacation in their kitchen. On the flip side, no one wants to eat microwavable ramen each meal either. It’s possible to strike a balance between creating delicious meals and spending minimal time in the kitchen, which the below strategies help you achieve.

Plan The Meals

Cooking in your RV is made much easier when you plan out what you will cook. Assign each breakfast, lunch, and dinner a meal. Then, get all the ingredients for those meals. Try to go grocery shopping close to your departure date. This helps any produce you purchase last longer on the trip. You don’t want any fruit or vegetables to expire before you reach the campsite!

Freeze Meals Ahead Of Time

Not all of the cooking needs to happen in your RV. Consider making a meal at home, then freezing it. During the RV trip, you can simply reheat the meal and enjoy a delicious dinner with minimal preparation time. This approach is especially helpful for meals with unique ingredients or spices that you don’t have room to store in your RV’s kitchen.

Utilize Batch Cooking

Batch cooking involves making a large portion of one item, such as shredded chicken. You can then turn that one ingredient into several meals. Use that shredded chicken for a stir fry, for taco night, for soup, and so on. It’s a great way to reduce the time spent cooking in your RV while still getting plenty of variety in the meals.
